The mountains in the background, the lighting of the field, the contrast of colour between the Blue Sky, White Clouds, Green foliage, Weary brown barn, and yellowish wild grasses in the foreground. Those previously mentioned elements formed in my mind’s eye a visual fairy-tale. I thought the setting sun would enhance what was already a bold yet dreamy image. Often I’m wrong, but this time! This personified for me “The Mythical State of Jefferson” which was the theme I was pursuing that year in my work. This image, This Mythical State of Jefferson, seemed a functional yet discarded relic of a Mythical Past; a diamond in the rough if you will.
